City schools encouraged to participate in Future Energy workshops

Schools across the metro are invited to participate in the City’s Energy Efficiency Schools Programme (EESP) Play and Workshop events. The workshops are being held to give learners the tools and knowledge to make smart energy decisions. The events started on Monday, 11 May 2026 at Rhodes High School in Mowbray and will continue until the competition and prize giving ceremony will take place on Friday, 19 June 2026. Schools are encouraged to contact us if they are interested in participating.
There are six slots available for schools to participate in our play and workshop events. Schools are encouraged to apply for these events which are aligned to the curriculum. By visiting schools around Cape Town, we can include residents in Energy solutions and show them how they can play a role in our collective energy future.
The events are part of the Cape Town Future Energy Festival, a city-wide movement to equip residents with the information to make better energy choices. By providing residents with knowledge, practical tools and inspiring experiences, the festival is helping households while creating awareness about the changing energy landscape and climate impacts.

- Timeslot:12:00 until 14:00
